Abstract:
The Mu3e experiment at PSI searches for the charged lepton flavour violating decay μ->eee, demanding ultra-low-mass detector technology to minimise multiple scattering and achieve momentum resolution below 1 MeV/c. The outer pixel detector layers (layer 3 and 4) are built from ladders comprising 17-18 MuPix11 HV-MAPS sensors (70μm thin), a low-mass aluminium/polyimide HDI, and a custom mechanical support; the measured ladder radiation length is (0.127 ± 0.009)%. Production of 24 layer 3 ladders has been completed, mounted into modules, and installed on the detector cage for the 2026 beam campaign. This talk will present an overview of the construction and quality control procedures.
