Abstract:
We discuss various research topics of the collaborative research
centre CRC-1044 "The low-energy frontier of the Standard Model"
at the University of Mainz, which addresses the interplay between such diverse
fields as hadron physics in the context of the high-energy and the high-precision frontiers of
the Standard Model. We present recent measurements from MAMI
regarding the Dark Photon, brand new measurements from BESIII
concerning the g-2 of the muon and new ideas regarding the proton
radius puzzle. At the end of the talk we also present
future opportunities for precision physics at the high-intensity electron
accelerator MESA, which is currently under construction in Mainz.
